This was for an article featuring the different places on Broadway Street in Salt Lake City.


Technicians get the stage ready for a production in the Rose Wagner Theatre. The Rose Wagner Theatre is one of many notable places located on Broadway in Salt Lake City.

Cross Country

Baseball


BYU Baseball player Sean McNaughton steals third base as a San Diego player attempts to get him out during their game Friday night. BYU defeated San Diego with a final score of 10-4.


Beat the Heat Features

BYU Physics major Troy Taylor runs through the Stuart Falls Waterfall after hiking the trail in the Provo Canyon Saturday morning. Taylor wanted to cool off after the hike and ended up losing his sunglasses in the waterfall.



Kelly Ontriveors holds his daughter, Asia, up in the air at Veterans Park Thursday afternoon. Veterans Park is one of the many places available to cool down in Utah County.
  
Basketball


BYU's Jimmer Fredette gets blocked by an Air Force player while attempting to shoot a basket during a game at the Mountain West Conference Tournament in Las Vegas. BYU defeated Air Force with a final score of 80-69.


Martin Luther King Jr. Day


Members of the community hold candles in memory of Martin Luther King Jr. as they walk the Walk of Life on BYU campus. After completing the walk Assistant Professor of Accounting, Peter M. Johnson, spoke on selections from Dr. Martin Luther King's "I Have a Dream Speech".

 Balloons


Bronson Kelly blows fire into his hot air balloon as he prepares to launch at the Sandy Balloon Festival Friday morning. Only one balloon was able to get into the air due to strong winds.

State Capitol Feature


The Utah State Capitol went through renovation to make it earthquake-proof. The formal re-dedication took place January 4, 2008.

Travel

A dinner guest who was chosen to act in the role of patriarch for his table hold up a plate of matzah during the Afikomen portion of the Seder Service of Passover Saturday evening in the Wilkinson Center. Professor of Ancient Scripture, Victor Ludlow, hosted Passover at BYU Saturday evening, which included dinner and a lecture.
